MY SISTER'S STORY :: A Public Art & Community Dialogue Project

In 2015, 25 female artists and poets partnered with another woman in the community to learn about the defining experiences of her life. Each artist then became their partner’s medium, creating original work to share and honor her story. MY SISTER'S STORY — a series of public art and community dialogue events held last March — was the culmination of those partnerships.

MOTHERS OF OUR NATIONS

MOTHERS OF OUR NATIONS, our 2016-2017 public art project, shines a light on the unique role women play in creating social change and groups of women leading the way in our own communities. Each of our artists has partnered with a local women-led group taking action to improve the world around them and are creating original work to honor them, with the ultimate goal of inspiring other women to be change agents in their own lives and communities.

COMMUNITY MURAL HONORING MAYA ANGELOU

June, 2014
Milwaukee

Maya Angelou deeply impacted our lives and the lives of many, many others. Her passing inspired us to change our plans for an interactive installation at Bay View Gallery Night at the last minute.
